Tragedy struck in the Punpun area adjacent to Patna as JDU leader Saurabh Kumar fell victim to a fatal shooting by criminals on a motorcycle late Wednesday night. Saurabh, shot three times, succumbed to his injuries, prompting a wave of outrage among locals and supporters who blocked the Patna-Gaya road in protest. The incident, occurring while Saurabh was returning from a wedding ceremony, has sent shockwaves through the community.

In addition to the loss of Saurabh, his friend Munmun Kumar was also injured in the attack, sustaining three gunshot wounds. Munmun was swiftly transported to a nearby private hospital for treatment. Meanwhile, city SP Bharat Soni confirmed that a case has been filed against the assailants, and police are actively conducting raids to apprehend the culprits. Amid the turmoil, Misa Bharti, daughter of RJD supremo Lalu Yadav and a candidate from Patliputra, visited the scene to offer condolences to Saurabh's grieving family, highlighting the gravity of the situation and the need for swift justice.
